Locate Items by Description
The Virtual Edge allows your customers to locate items by typing in all or part of an item's description into a convenient on-screen keyboard. A list of qualifying items, complete with their images will be displayed to assist the customer in identifying the item being sought.
Locate Items when the description is not known
The Virtual Edge from Responsive Data Systems provides a powerful push down search. The Virtual Edge presents your customer with a list of departments where the item may exist. Your customer selects the most likely department and is then presented with a list of the classifications of items that are located in that department. Your customer selects the most likely classification and is presented with a list of the sub-categories of items that make up the selected classification. Your customer then selects the most likely sub-classification of items. The Virtual Edge then presents a list of the items contained in the selected sub-classification complete with their images.
The Kiosks double as “Scan Stations”
The Virtual Edge from Responsive Data Systems provides a scan station function which allows your customer to bring an item over to the Kiosk and place it under the built in scanner to perform a lookup.
Item Locator Information is Displayed
The Virtual Edge displays item detail information, including physical location of the selected item, its price, availability, image, and additional descriptive information. This detail information is displayed regardless as to whether the item is found by description; push down search, or through the scan station.
